Using just his bare hands, a volunteer worker in Tʜᴀɪʟᴀɴᴅ is seen in a spectacular video capturing a massive king cobra. Locals in the southern Thai province of Krabi alerted ᴘᴏʟɪᴄᴇ after the snake slithered through a palm plantation and attempted to hide in a septic tank, according to the news website Thaiger.
According to reports, the enormous cobra was 4.5 meters (almost 14 feet) long and weighed more than 10 kilos. Ao Nang Subdistrict Administrative Organization volunteer Sutee Naewhaad needed about 20 minutes to catch the snake. The snake was coaxed into a public road by Mr. Naewhaad, 40, before he started trying to catch it.
The king cobra may be seen thwarting all attempts to catch it. The snake occasionally lunged forward with its mouth open, but Mr. Naewhaad was able to dodge it.
The snake catcher reportedly said that after being captured, the king cobra was securely released back into its natural environment. Due to the recent ᴋɪʟʟing of another cobra by villagers, he claimed that the snake had likely been searching for its mate.
Adding that his abilities come from years of training, Mr. Naewhaad also advised others against attempting to catch snakes.
The king cobra is a type of ᴘᴏɪsᴏɴᴏᴜs snake that is exclusive to Asia’s southern and southeast regions. With an average length of 10 to 13 feet, it is the longest ᴠᴇɴᴏᴍᴏᴜs snake in the world. Tʜᴀɪʟᴀɴᴅ, where has a sizable snake population, was home to one of the largest king cobras ever recorded (18 feet and 4 inches).
