This is the comical sᴄᴇɴᴇ of an elephant getting trapped while attempting to scale a fence after robbing Iɴᴅɪᴀn crops. The animal was photographed in Iɴᴅɪᴀ’s southwest state of Karnataka’s Nagarhole National Park.
The elephant can be seen in the video scanning the opposite side while initially balancing on one leg on a metal fence strut. It then tries to climb the fence with its forelegs but gets trapped, sticking its large rump and hind legs in the air while pointing at the camera.
It takes some time for the elephant to figure out how to utilize its rear legs to push its weight beyond the obstacle. It pushes itself up with an enormous effort, briefly “kneeling” on the top rung, and then manages to reach the other side.
Supriya Sahu posted the video on the Internet with the title “Speechless.” A commenter said that he had seen films of these gentle giants climbing over a frail bamboo fence when they could have simply strolled through it. Another person remarked it was a traffic infraction, that elephant must pay a 500 rupee fine.
The footage was shot in the Veeranahosalli Range in the morning, according to Mahesh Kumar, director of the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, who spoke to the Iɴᴅɪᴀn Express. After robbing crops, he claimed the animal was returning to the forest.
Let’s watch the video:
