In the Kruger National Park, two male lions ᴋɪʟʟed a kudu between a line of vehicles and then continued to dine on the animal for nearly 30 minutes. Two male lions ᴋɪʟʟed a kudu smack in the middle of a group of automobiles on the H1 road in the Kruger National Park, which runs between Orpen Gate and Satara Camp.
Carrie Dunford, a British student, was able to take several pictures of the lions ᴋɪʟʟing the kudu. Dunford had pulled up next to the road to observe two lions crossing it while pausing every few meters to mark their territory.
The lion started stalking the kudu as soon as it saw it standing in the underbrush. When the kudu saw the lion, it attempted to flee but slid on the tar between the cars. According to Dunford’s article for Africa Geographic, the kudu slipped in the road and was still attempting to get its feet under it when a lion snatched it from behind.
There was no way out once the other lion grabbed its throat. Once both lions had it, the kudu perished without much of a ғɪɢʜᴛ. Before dragging the carcass into the bushes, the lions fed on it for thirty minutes. The fact that the lions hadn’t been actively ʜᴜɴᴛing added to how swift and unexpected the ᴋɪʟʟ had been. For those who were fortunate enough to see such an opportunistic ʜᴜɴᴛ, it was a once-in-a-lifetime sighting.
