From frozen sand, nature creates incredible monuments that resemble alien pillars. Strong gusts carved dozens of tall structures haphazardly positioned along the coast at Tiscornia Park Beach by eroding frozen sand. Those frozen sand sculptures created by the wind were photographed by Joshua Nowicki. They do not survive very long, Nowicki asserts (usually only a couple of days). They are entirely destroyed or uprooted by the wind. In the winter, they frequently disintegrate if the temperature rises above freezing and are quickly covered by drifting snow.
